I’ve only been playing FFXIV for about two years but it’s consumed me heart, soul and ass; so I think I’m kind of obsessed with it. ( Namely just my cat boy ) For now I’m creating a place to share and store my thoughts about Taygete.

Naturally, Taygete, is my original character from Final Fantasy XIV — alot of the writings for his story as well as lore about him are all personal facets both from my own experiences as well as the narrative elements presented from the story. He is multi-demensional, hypocritcal and a complex collection of thoughts, experiences and feelings that I’ve compiled from a dang video game.

I mostly write in my free time, and have a good time with lots of hashing out thoughts, developing plot threads and enjoying character dynamics. Outside of that I tend to draw things to accompany the journey so there will be plenty of things scattered between my various socials for my FFXIV drawings. • Just as a rule and per my own preference, I will only RP with people 21+.• I’m a slow burn kinda bitch so I prefer sort of establishing character relationships off slow and watching them organically evolve into things as they go!• While I do multiship — I do have main ships that can be mentioned or referred to dependent on the circumstance. If you’re interested in shipping with Taygete, know that he will have a history and is not strictly monogamous.• I don’t typically jump into anything romantic or sexual until after some establishing ( it’s not to say it couldn’t happen depending on character chemistry ) but I do not mind working backwards dependent on how the characters can interact or story beats to justify.• I am fine with writing most explicit or dark themes, and I’m always happy to provide RPG consent sheets when it comes to certain topics and themes. I make it INCREDIBLY clear about boundaries, and I do my best to respect those adjacent to my writing partner. His mother A’Rawiya was the matron of the small tribe of Keeper Mi’qtoe serving as their lead courtesan and huntress that protected the meager people of the area; living in a peaceful exchange that served to benefit both groups in hospitable ease. He wears a long pair of braids, adorned by old feathers he retrieved from a hunt in Gyr Abania.\seyes\s His left is a deep ruddy brown that glimmers with a slight warmth, while the right is a mysterious anomoly of bright amber that often is in noticable contrast between the pair. In the depth of the dark, a brighten relfection is cast from the light.

Taygete is most know for his exuberant charm and clever wit, having trained under his mentor Thancred he was brought in as an asset to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. He has always been known to be the heart of the party as well as a loyal friend to lean a shoulder upon the need.During his ventures, much of the jovial nature is soon swept by the melancholy and reality of the circumstances of being a hero. While it was but a dream before, he has been truly changed by the pressures of his ventures and in his time, the youthful gale became something more reserved and reflective. From his reckless adventure, he promised himself to take the knowledge and apply it toward his studies as Archon.

In his training, and perhaps in relation to the proffered Gyr Abanian spirit, Taygete studied the combat art of the monks. He learned to channel his spirit into the bright and fiery burn of the phoenix, summoning the fighting spirit he has harnessed in the brightened in the youth of his training. At his weakest, he can summon a surge of energy to summon his phoenix for an extra boost of energy in his fight.wrymwind thrust - dragoon
Within the middle toward the end of the main events of ARR, Taygete eventually took up the lance in a manner of “blending in” during Ishgard after their escape, hoping the new vocation would be enough to take his mind off the circumstances of their exile. He became actually rather adept in the art, where he soon met his rival, Estinien. The lance was a departure from aspects of familiarity that he learned with his fists, discovering that he had an affinity for harnessing those strong bursts of energy and the magic of the dragons with him.fleche - red mage Consumed with the struggle of the liberation of his homeland, dealing with the sundering rage of his fluxing emotions; he took to learning the casting art of black and white magic while utilizing some of the skills he learned as a dragoon to help implement those into his duelist style as a Red Mage. Toward the middle of HW and the beginning of STB, Taygete had been lured to the call of darkness by the fear and anger that was beginning to build from the events of things going on. It was then he met his shadowy counter part in Fray, taking up the art as the wandering Dark Knight between his jobs with the Scions. The more things around him began to happen, the more his anger and darkness began to manifest in Fray — who became more of a constant and lingering mirror. It wasn’t until SHB that Taygete learned to accept the darkened facets of himself and utilized his closest confidant in his shadow.enshroud - reaper
After proving his mettle to those of the Lemures and being accepted within the ranks, Drusilla imparted the importance of a communion for Taygete to establish his pact with a void sent so that he may venture onward with his abilities. Because of his connection to his Azem, Cronus — a member of the convocation that inspired the combat abilities of reapers — Taygete was a natural in the art, and the attentions of the voidsent that both coward from him and challenged him. It was until a voidsent by the name of Ascolta [ Harkened ] that approached him with the notion of a deal. The pair finding some resonance in one another, and serving to use one another to their appointed means.reawaken - viper
Throughout his journey he has become a fierce adversary to those across the star. He’s learned many swift and striking talents, studied under Thancred’s tutilage as an Archon, and struck out on his own in search of new skills. He came across a traveling man from Tural, who taught him the way of the Vipers — enticing his wanderer spirit and leading him across the deserts of Thalanan and in the marshes of his homeland. The spirit of adventure and the thrill of battle had reawakened in him, carrying forth into his new journey as a mentor to the future Dawnservant.

Taygete spent much of ARR in Thancred’s shadow, learning the ropes of being a decent thief and asset to the Scions while beginning his new life within Ul’dah. The training was hard, and while he was an adept student capable of much within his first few months, the mounting political strain was soon thrusting his abilities to the forefront. He was praised for his way with words, and his knack for cunning retort that Thancred decided to push him more toward being a mouth piece for matters of the group; both of them using their skills to be able to gather information throughout the missions and earn favour amongst the factions within Eorzea.As the tension rises, the true threat of primals begin to grow dire Taygete keeps to suspicions of the strange and avoiodant behaviour of his friend. From their long hours and exertion into the information efforts, he is sharp enough to discern the strange behaviour in Thancred’s fatigue, but unsure how to inquire the nature of it — keeping a close eye on his mentor as they make way for another mission throughout Thanalan, in search of more information regarding the Primal threat.
Before long their investigation begins to stagnate and Thancred, at the end of his wick, imparts that he needs time to rest and get himself back in order, lest he be thee reason for anymore hinderances to the Scion’s efforts.Reluctantly, Taygete agrees for the both of them ensuring that he and Thancred both need their time before setting to the mission once more and in his own time would begin investigating more surrounding the efforts of Garlemald and the whispers of the rebellion efforts alongside Yda and Papalymo. As the tension mounts across Eorzea, Taygete learns more of the political pressures that press upon the needs of the Scions — Nanamo Ul Namo imparting the need of the Scion’s help to stop the impending threat of the Garlean’s new weapon, Ultima Weapon.

RED MAGE
He had been dreading this return since the stoking of the flames, hearing Gyr Abania’s call for liberation still ringing out amidst the chaos that stretched into the far north. Returning home left a bitter taste in his mouth, knowing the shackles of what there once was on the beauty of Gyr Abania still remained.
Taygete kept his opinions regarding the Liberation front to himself, deciding it was best to stick to the information they had before letting his heart jump into the drive for home. The painstaking lengths it took to get here would not be in vain.
By the time the Scion’s and their retinue approached Rhalgar’s Reach, the carnage had begun. A dark, imposing figure had laid waste to much of their base of operations, their allies and their spirit — Zenos, the Garlean pariah in search of a fitting hunt. Seeing the carnage left in his wake, Taygete sprung into action against the monster, laying into him his all through fury and fear; determined to strike the man dead.
Though Taygete managed to survive the intial attack, he didn’t come out unscathed.
The instability of his fury and emotional state sent Fray into a flux, nearly tearing him apart from himself and sending Taygete in something of a berserk.Taygete was put on the back end of the liberation team serving as a stand in for Thancred as he went to recon more into the Garlean Front and became a liaison for Dalamasca, the pair intercepting news surrounding the war fronts and exchanging it between their teams in the Eorzean Alliance and the Scions. As the tantamount war began its approach, Taygete helped usher in the allied forces against the Garlean assault alongside the Grand Companies of Eorzea, and fought alongside his friends and allies against the formidable Zenos.

During his escape from the bloody banquet, Taygete escaped toward Coerthas at the beheast of the Scion’s ally in Haurchefant Greystone and his family of the Foretemps. During this time, knowing that there was surely to be traitors still searching for the remaining few that escaped from the Crystal Braves, decided to take up more on his training as a Dragoon; slipping further into the city under a guise as he kept low from any potential threats that might be on the hunt.Of his few contacts, he occaassionally crossed paths with the infamous Azure Dragoon, Estinien, who had marked him as his rival during his training beneath Alberic. The two had brief encounters regarding the circumstances regarding the crisis of Ishgard’s stablity alongside the growing tensions within the ire of the Dragonsong War — Taygete deciding to lend whatever aid he could in exchange for infromation regarding whispers surrounding any rumors of surviving Scions and allowing him the chance to meet with the Knight Commander to parley for the aide in their search.Much of this time was spent holed up in the Forgotten Knight, offering himself as mercenary to the troubles of local destitutes and corssing paths with the dragoon he became acquainted with. He eventually caught wind that the young commander of the treacherous Crystal Braves had been safely harboured in Ishgard along with Tataru; visiting with them as they began to consort on their next plans to recover the other Scions. Taygete leaves Ishgard briefly to retrace the steps of their escape from Ul’dah in hopes of finding a trail that will lead to their whereabouts until he came across the other sibling of the twins, the young Alisaie after their brief crossing in southern Thanalan. He learns of her quest in seraching for strange people who have been tracking the Scion’s exploits and trying to induce summonings —- Taygete offering to join her on her mission and act as a liason between her and her brother back in the Northern reach.

DARK KNIGHT
The Call struck the Scions at the high of their victory against the Garlean Empire, scattering them between the battle high and the impending doom that came with the sudden summoning. Taygete was spirited away the same time as Thancred to the First, the pair of them finding refuge within the meager town of Stilltide, as they began their plans of what to do and how to prepare themselves for the world ahead.
During their stay, the pair learned of this world’s Minfilia and began to gather their intelligence on the resplendent city of Eulmore and how to retrieve the girl from her captivity. It was a steadily building wedge that managed to fit between them, as Eulmore prepared their hunt for the interlopers that stole away their Oracle of Light.Taygete led the militant tracks away from Thancred and Minfilia, allowing them the chance to escape — narrowly getting caught himself until he was brought in by a few of the Crystarium knights in Lakeland and offered safe harbor there. He spent a few years alongside Thancred as a sell sword, working odd jobs for the Crystarium and the Exarch as needed until the wide spread news of more of the Scions began to drop into the First. As they slowly reunited their retinue, the unrequited visits of Emet-Selch began to put Taygete on edge; rage still lingering from his clash with Zenos and an unprecedented anger that cared little for the Ascian and his tests against their mettle. The slow boil of best laid plans coming to heel put him on edge, learning the plight of the elder primals mocking the gods he once knew and the master plan of the Rejoining coming to fruition. He steeled himself against the melancholic nihilist and prepared for his test of the Final Days, playing his role as a Warrior of Darkness.

REAPER
Nothing prepared them for the threat of failure at their heels. The Final Days looming upon them and threatening the long standing peace they had bled for. Taygete was steeled against the coming threats, having learned to harness the power of his living shadow as a shield against the warping effects of dynamis, he was a key pillar in keeping his allies within the Scions from succumbing to the despair.
But it did not shield him from the fear or pain of seeing those that he loved and cared for harrowed by the nightmares and terrors descending upon them.Taygete suffers painful injuries during the horrors of Vanaspati, burns singing his fur and crawling on the leathers of his gauntlets; burning his arms as he tries to protect his allies. The pain keeps him from succumbing to the fear, urging the fight onward to smite another blasphemy descended upon Thavinair.
As the Endsinger’s call begins to bellow, Taygete follows as they press in to the ends of the Ethyeris. He is forever grateful for the journey he embarked, and serves as another bridge to usher his friends forward.
At the end’s toll, he is summoned by the will of the Light to fight with all of his strength into the brighter edge of the morrow.
At her defeat, nearly exhausted and spent, Taygete collapses from his exhaustion and spends the short while on their return recovering from their journey’s end. After everything they’ve been through, he can’t but agree to the silent disbanding of the Scions of the Seveth Dawn — taking his own path back toward Sharlayan to finally pursue his own thirst knowledge and honing his expertise as an asset to the Scions should they need of him.

These connections have created strong bonds that he holds dearly to him and insists on keeping close. Throughout his adventures in Eozea he has found immeasurable bonds in the friends, and even the enemies he’s made; each having made a lasting impact on his being everywhere he’s been. [ These bonds extend to both in game characters as well as other player characters that have influence Taygete’s journey. ]
